1.Introduction
    Medical Imaging is an important component of Zhong-Da Hospital, the main teaching hospital of Southeast University, as well as important graduate education program attached to Southeast University, which has been selected as the only provincial key laboratory and one of clinical key department in Jiangsu Province since 2001. This Department, originated from Department of Radiology of former Central University with more than 60 years history, currently includes Division of Diagnostic Radiology, Division of Diagnostic Ultrasound, Division of Nuclear Medicine, Interventional Radiology Laboratory and Molecular Biologic Medical Imaging Laboratory. Many up-to-date imaging facilities are equipped in Department, which are 1.5T Marconi MRI, 2 CT scans, 3 DSA units, and SPECT, etc.
    There are more than 100 faculties in the Department of Medical Imaging. Among them, there are 4 professors and 10 associate professors (10 of them are proven to have qualification for supervising graduate students pursuing master or doctor degree). Over 10 separate research projects are undergoing in department, including National Science Research Foundation, international research foundation with European Congress of Radiology, etc. With development in all aspects in medical imaging, interventional radiology and diagnostic radiology of gastroenterology win a highest reputation national-widely and hold priority in the development among all subspecialties.
    The department opens the first program in Jiangsu Province for a 5-year undergraduate education as a specialty for medical imaging. It has recruited graduate students with M.S. degree since 1984 and there are 18 such students currently. Therefore, the department has accumulated rich experience for education of medical imaging both for undergraduate or graduate education.
    There are several professors who hold national academic reputation in radiology in the Department like Prof. Dr. Gao-Jun Teng. Dr. Teng specialties in interventional radiology, who is doing several research projects as PI in the field of mechanism research of stent restenosis, arterial chemoembolization for malignancies, percuataneous vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty, and percuatneous discectomy, etc. Dr. Teng has published over 40 papers in Radiology, AJR and several books, who hold a lot of national academic positions including Committee Member of Chinese Radiology Society and Editorial Board Member of Chinese Journal of Radiology, etc.
2. Educative purpose
    To cultivate the advanced doctors engaged in science research of medical image, medical education and clinical practice. They will acquire full development both in mind and in body.

    Diagnostic Radiology, CT, MRI; Interventional Radiology; Diagnostic Ultrosound; and Nuclear Medicine.
